About the program

"Stage6 Music - Teacher professional Learning at The Tops" is a residential professional learning opportunity that aims to provide government school music teachers with a set of intensive workshops and master classes that address the marking guidelines and assessment of students performance, composition and extended responses to aural stimuli. Sessions will be delivered by highly experienced markers and there are also opportunities to work with Brett Weymark, Warwick Tyrell and Damian Barbeler, three professional musicians working at the pinnacle of their chosen field of music. Teachers attending will also participate in rehearsals of a large scale choral work tat the State Senior Music Camp with reference to the musicology component of all senior music courses.

New Scheme Teachers

For teachers working towards accreditation at the level of professional competence with the NSW Institute of Teachers, this course may contribute 12 registered hours of teacher professional learning in relation to the following Professional Teaching Standards:

If this professional learning opportunity is over subscribed preference will be given to teachers from non-metropolitan regions.

 

This is a new arts initiative of the NSW Department of Education and Training.
