TaikOz Workshops for Teachers and Students

The 2009 Schools Spectacular TaikOz Workshops provide an opportunity for teachers and students to be involved in a challenging and stimulating percussion program, extending the opportunities available in schools and regions.

Applications are now invited from schools for students in Years 7 to 12 and teachers.  The program consists of two half day workshops.  The first workshop will be held on 1 September and the second on 8 September.  Successful applicants will be expected to attend a half-day workshop on both days. The venue for the workshops is St Georges Hall, Newtown High School of the Performing Arts, King Street, Newtown.

The Schools Spectacular TaikOz Workshops will focus on developing technical and performance abilities in TaikOz drumming.  Students and teachers are professionally trained by tutors from TaikOz, Australia's leading TaikOz drumming specialists.

The total attendance fee for successful applicants is $30.00.  Travel to and from the venue and meals are NOT provided.

Applications are due to The Arts Unit by Friday 10 July 2009.  If more than one student is nominated from a school, a priority ranking must be shown on the application forms.
