2009 State Dance Festival

Schools are invited to make application to participate in Dance 2009, a Festival of Dance which provides a showcase of excellence in dance involving students from Kindergarten to Year 12 from NSW government schools.

 

The Festival will take place from 15 – 19 September 2009 in the Everest Theatre, at the Seymour Centre, City Road, Chippendale. Application for Dance 2009 requires schools to have participated in their regional dance festival. Special consideration will be given in extenuating circumstances when schools have been unable to meet this eligibility criterion.

 

Student choreographers and dance video makers are also invited to audition their work for a separate showcase which will be performed in the Downstairs Theatre at the Seymour Centre. The performance will be open to the public and participating students. Student devised Dance Videos will be shown at the Student Showcase as a way of encouraging further exploration of the links between dance and technology.
