Individual Items

Individual items are the performances that add variety and further interest to the Primary Proms. Your school group, or groups that combine students from a variety of schools, are invited to lodge a nomination to appear in the Primary Proms as featured performers. It might be a string quartet, concert band, percussion ensemble or even a vocal group. All primary and secondary schools are encouraged to submit outstanding vocal and/or instrumental groups or soloists for inclusion in the Primary Proms.

Auditions for individual items are by DVD/video. To nominate an individual item from your school, download and complete the Individual Item Application Form and lodge it at The Arts Unit by the Friday 2 July 2010. Individual items also form an integral part of the Festival of Instrumental Music and the Festival of Choral Music at the Sydney Opera House. Individual item applications close on 1 April 2010 for the Festival of Instrumental Music close and 2 July 2010 for the Festival of Choral Music and The Primary Proms. You need only complete one application for all three concert series. Space exists on the application form for you to indicate the concerts in which your school would like to appear if selected.

All performers selected to appear as Individual Items will be required to attend a rehearsal on the day of their concert.

Don't forget - your DVD/video audition must accompany your application.
