2010 Choral Music Festivals

For almost 60 years the NSW Department of Education and Training has proudly presented choral festivals for NSW public school students. Originally performed in the Sydney Town Hall, the Festival of Choral Music moved to the Concert Hall of the newly opened Sydney Opera House in 1974 where, despite increased capacity, they continue to sell out year after year.

Demand for places in the choral concerts from our young performers also continues to grow. In 2003 The Arts Unit presented its first series of The Primary Proms for students in Years 3 and 4. Two concerts at the Hills Centre proved such a success that, in 2004, The Primary Proms moved to the Sydney Town Hall with three exciting performances.

In 2010, The Primary Proms series will present three performances at the Sydney Town Hall, while the Festival of Choral Music will present five magnificent performances in the Concert Hall of the Sydney Opera House.
