Colourguard

A marching band performance is much more than just music and marching. It is a unique blend of visual and musical forces that combine to create a unified sight and sound sensation. The Colourguard combines the use of apparatus such as flags, rifles and sabres with dance and movement elements to complement and enhance the musical performance.

Becoming a member of the guard is a great opportunity to be part of a musical group without having to play an instrument. And it's not just for the girls! The rifle and sabre lines are also great opportunities for the boys to show what they can do.

What Skills Do I Need?

There are no pre-requisite skills for becoming a member of the colourguard. All you need is a sense of timing and rhythm, and co-ordination. While previous dance or movement skills are a plus, they're not essential - we'll teach you all you need to know.
