Percussion

The power behind any marching band lies in its percussion section. They are the driving force. The percussion section of the Millennium Marching Band is divided into two sections - the battery (snares, toms, bass drums and cymbals - a virtual drum kit on legs!), and the pit (all the rest - auxilliary percussion, mallet percussion and countless other bits and pieces). There is a place on an instrument in the percussion section for just about anyone!

What Skills Do I Need?

There is no pre-requisite AMEB/Suzuki/Trinity exam levels required in order to become a member of the Millennium Marching Band. You don't have to be a virtuoso - in fact we've had students join who have been playing their instrument less than 12 months! You'll be surprised how quickly your playing improves as a member of the Band and working with our great tutorial staff.

What About Instruments?

Don't worry about an instrument. All the percussion instruments are supplied for you at no cost. All you need to supply are your own sticks or mallets. We can also import sticks and mallets for members at very competitive prices.
