Performances

The Millennium Marching Band undertakes a number of major performances throughout the year. While some performances are annual events on the Band calendar (Royal Easter Show, ANZAC Day, Schools Spectacular), the Band also participates in a number of major special events at state, national and international levels. In the past, these have included the NRL Grand Final, the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, Centenary of Federation events, Opening Ceremony of the Rugby World Cup and the Opening Ceremony of the 21st World University Games in Beijing China.

Our proposed schedule for Semester 1 2010 is already complete and appears to the right of this page. However, from time to time performance opportunities in addition to those already published on our schedule become available. In cases such as these, Band members will have the opportunity to indicate their availability to participate in these additional performances before the engagement is accepted. There is no obligation to participate in performances that are additions to our published schedule.

Some performances don't require our full Band. In these cases, players have the opportunity to indicate whether or not they are available to perform, and rosters of players are drawn up accordingly. This is a great way to share the workload amongst the Band and help minimise the travel of country students.
